Titleist Vokey SM9 56

The SM9 56 S grind is Vokey's recommended configuration for the majority of players who want one sand wedge that works from the bunker and tight lies in fairway grass. The trailing-edge grind on the S reduces the leading edge bounce on firm lies while preserving the full sole bounce for bunker shots. At 12 degrees of bounce the SM9 56 is on the higher end of the mid-bounce category, which suits medium-to-soft turf and average bunker sand depth rather than hard-packed conditions. The groove update from SM8 to SM9 is more noticeable in damp conditions than dry ones. Used SM9 wedges in good groove condition are the most direct replacement for worn SM8s at a fraction of current retail.
