What this policy covers
Caddyroom is a golf gear research tool. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and what rights you have. We keep this plain and short on purpose.
Data we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) through Google OAuth. We store this in our database to identify your account and display your name in the app.
When you use the Locker or Wishlist, we store the clubs you have saved and any carry distances you have entered. This is the core data that makes the personalized gap check work.
We collect basic usage information through Vercel (our hosting provider), including pages visited and approximate geographic region. This is standard infrastructure-level analytics, not behavioral tracking. We do not run advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts.
How we use your data
Your email and profile are used to authenticate you and identify your saved data. We do not send marketing emails. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Bag and wishlist data is used to power the gap check and saved-bag features. It is stored on your account and is not shared with or visible to other users.
Cookies
We use cookies for authentication only. When you sign in with Google, Supabase (our database and auth provider) sets a session cookie so you stay logged in across pages. These cookies are necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party services
Caddyroom uses a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Supabase -- database, authentication, and file storage. Your account and bag data lives in their infrastructure.
- Vercel -- hosting and CDN. They receive the same request metadata any web host would (IP address, user agent, pages visited).
- Google OAuth -- used for sign-in only. We receive your email and profile from Google when you authenticate.
- Affiliate networks -- when you follow a retailer link from Caddyroom, you may land on a retailer site that has its own cookies and tracking. Those practices are governed by the retailer's privacy policy, not ours. We participate in affiliate programs including Amazon Associates, Impact, AWIN, AvantLink, FlexOffers, Rakuten, Partnerize, ShareASale, and the eBay Partner Network.
Data retention
We keep your account and saved data as long as your account exists. We do not automatically delete inactive accounts, but you can delete yours at any time (see below).
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and all associated data. To do any of these, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.
If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR and UK GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
Caddyroom is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We will not apply retroactive changes that reduce your privacy rights without giving you notice first.
