The 2021 TP5x runs 90 compression and a slightly higher flight than the standard TP5, which was the design intent for players who wanted the multi-layer spin control without losing ball speed through the ball. The 5-piece construction was unchanged from the 2019 generation in core architecture, with updates to the cover chemistry in 2021 for better friction at lower temperatures. For a used buyer who plays at 105 mph club head speed or faster, the 2021 TP5x and the 2024 version are functionally very similar. The price difference on secondary markets makes this a strong value purchase in sealed or mint condition.
