TaylorMade SIM2 Max
iron|2021
Caddyroom Take
The SIM2 Max was TaylorMade's widest-sole game-improvement iron in 2021 and the correct choice in the lineup for golfers who prioritized launch height and forgiveness over workability. The CAP back construction used an aluminum panel on the rear of the iron to free mass for redistribution, and the Echo Damping System addressed the feedback complaint common to hollowbody irons. At 28.5 degrees of 7-iron loft and 5.70mm of offset, this is a strong-lofted GI iron with significant offset, which means it is not the right choice for a mid-to-low-handicap player who wants to shape shots. For the player it was designed for, the used market price is strong value against current TaylorMade GI offerings.
