TaylorMade SIM2
driver|2021
Caddyroom Take
The SIM2 was TaylorMade's first driver with a forged aluminum ring around the perimeter, which shifted mass to the extremities for higher MOI without increasing head weight. The 16-gram rear weight was fixed rather than adjustable, unlike the original SIM, which simplified the design but removed draw/fade customization. For a used buyer the SIM2 is a strong option: the ball speed technology was competitive in 2021 and the gap to current models is measured in yards per session, not rounds won or lost. Shaft options ranged widely at retail, so inspect what's in the used example before assuming you need an upgrade.
