The R1 Smart pairs the NX10 optics with a rechargeable battery, app-connected GPS showing front, center, and back distances, wind-assist readings, and a find-my-device feature. It sits in the same hybrid tier as the Garmin Z82 but takes a different approach: the GPS data appears on the device's external screen rather than through the viewfinder, so you switch between eyepiece and screen. The rechargeable battery drops the CR2 replacement cycle. At roughly twice the NX10 price it suits a player who wants app connectivity and GPS yardages without a second device.
