Garmin Approach Z82

The Z82 merges a laser rangefinder with a GPS unit in one device. The digital overlay shows full-color course maps through the viewfinder alongside the laser reading, so you see hazard distances next to the pin number without taking your eye from the eyepiece. Flag accuracy is to within 10 inches per Garmin, and 41,000 courses are preloaded. The penalty is battery: about 15 hours of use, or three to four rounds, and a 4-hour charge cycle. At 8.2 ounces and IPX7 the build is competitive. The Z82 fits a player who wants GPS and laser in one unit and will charge it between rounds.
